History

The Com in Beeld Foundation was founded on January 20, 2015 at the initiative of Mascha Legel, with the aim of conducting research into image literacy. Com in Beeld offers an audiovisual (AV) education to learners with communicative impairments, and exists as a film production house in which a mixture of young people (both with and without disabilities) collaborate to develop accessible, state-of-the-art multimedia projects.

Upon commencement of the Cam on Wheels project in 2016, the foundation was given an opportunity to further realize its ambitions. Com in Beeld started film production on Lloydstraat in Rotterdam in 2018 with the aid of a subsidy from the Disabled Child Foundation (before NSGK) and the Vriendenloterij.
